T-Level Craft & Design (Fashion and Textiles) Duration: 2 Years

The T-Level in Fashion is a qualifications for post-16 students looking to pursue a specialist career in the industry. It provides students with the necessary industry relevant skills, knowledge and work experience to access entry level roles, training programmes and apprenticeships in the fashion industry, or apply for progression to related higher education courses. These qualifications provide an opportunity for those students who have ambitions and aspirations of a career in the creative industries and arts to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure that is stimulating and demanding. Students will have the opportunity to develop transferable skills, making them versatile and employable individuals whilst learning the importance and application of ethical and sustainable design principles; as well as developing a rich contextual knowledge and understanding of their developing creative practice and specialist vocational area.

Qualification: T-Level Craft & Design (Fashion and Textiles). Two year course with lots of work experience.

Fashion students starting this course will be in a new custom-designed block with specialist equipment, called Fashion Future.

Aminat graduated from BCE in 2018, She moved on to study the Foundation at Central St Martins through UAL Insights. She is now studying the BA in Fashion Design and Marketing at Central St Martins. Aminat is now in her second year of the course. She is a mentor at UAL insights to help students get into CSM. Aminat also models part-time and is currently signed with Wilhelmina Models.

Ofsted Report

Big Creative Training Limited (BCT) is an independent training provider based in Walthamstow. BCT opened in 2000 and offers creative industries programmes for 16 to 19, apprenticeships, adult courses and alternative provision. BCT is rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in all areas.

Big Creative Academy (BCA) is a 16 to 19 academy based in Walthamstow. The academy opened in September 2014 and offers study programmes for students aged 16 to 19 in subjects to prepare them primarily for further study or employment in the creative industries. BCA is rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted

Teachers have very good subject knowledge and industrial experience, as well as strong commercial links with practitioners and employers; they use these effectively to help inspire students and provide a strongly vocational context to their development.

All staff work closely with students to help them overcome any barriers to learning, to assure their health and welfare, to maintain good behaviour and a positive work ethic; as a result, students feel safe and are able to achieve their potential.
